Winter is always hard for our skin to be in best shape. We found some easy remedies to help our PinKixx members for more perfect skin during this dry season.
1. Eating the right food.
Alcohol and caffeine should be avoided if you can. On the other hand, more fruit and vegetables should be included in your diet. Vitamin A, B, and E are important for healthy skin. Oily fish like salmon that contains omega-3 fatty acids will help hydrating and nourishing skin too.
Drink lots of water!
Also don’t forget to use your sunscreen even in winter. You can also look for lotions containing “humectants,” a class of substances (including glycerine, sorbitol, and alpha-hydroxy acids) that attract moisture to your skin.
Use moisturizers, especially natural ones like butter, oils, glycerin, etc in winter. For example, take the ripe papaya and ripe banana and mesh and mix them well, and apply it on your dry skin.
3. Do your bath right.
Who wouldn’t love hot shower or bath? However, please remember, luke warm water, instead of hot one, will help preventing of stripping the moisture and oils out of your skin and leaving it parched, dry and scaly.
Use mild soaps.
A bubble bath sounds good, especially after a long day, but many of the bubbles you put in your bath will leave your skin stripped of the oils your skin needs. Instead of using a bubble bath, find a soothing oatmeal or milk powder that will enhance your bath experience, and leave the oils where they belong. Another product you could try is a bath oil. Adding the 2 tbsp of olive oil to the bathing water also does the trick. 5-6 drops of oat extract or lavender oil in the bathtub is also a great idea for your skin. Milk bath once a month is also recommended.
After shower or bathing, pat dry, instead of rubbing. Applying aloe vera on your clean skin is also a great idea.
4. Do regular exercise.
It’s no brainer that doing exercise is good for health. Also regular exercise is one of the keys to healthy skin. We tend to focus on the cardiovascular benefits of physical activity, and those are important. But anything that promotes healthy circulation also helps keep your skin healthy and vibrant. By increasing blood flow, exercise helps nourish skin cells and keep them vital. Exercise also ease the stress, which of course helps our skin to rest.
