Think PinK This Month!

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. According to National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.,:

  • One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.
  • Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women.
  • Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women.
  • Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die.

While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages.

Early detection of cancer can save lives. We encourage all of our PinKixxes to make time to see their doctors and check it out as soon as they can and remind others about National Mammography Day, October 17, too, so they can make their own plans to visit doctor’s.

To spread the words of breast cancer awareness and help out breast cancer non-profit organizations, PinKixx is donating a part of every sale from PinKixx.com in October. If you are shopping online this month, please look for the online shops that make donations from their sales to the breast cancer non-profit organizations. Also if you wish, there are a lot of fundraisers you would be able to find to make donations to and help others for. Every little bit helps!

How are you helping to spread the words of breast cancer awareness and why? Please share your story in the comment with us!
